I’ve received my first order, what do I do next?

Congrats on receiving your first (of many) sales. If you’ve received an email or message on your account stating that an art lover has authorised payment for one of your artworks, you will need to either ‘Accept’ or ‘Decline’ the purchase within 24 hours. If you do not respond within 24 hours, your artwork will be automatically relisted on the Site and the transaction will be voided.

If you choose to accept the purchase within 24 hours, then you will need to ship the artwork to the buyer as soon as possible, but in any event within 3 business days of accepting the purchase. It’s important that you follow our guidelines for packing and shipping artworks, this ensures that your artwork arrives safely to the buyer. We also request that artworks are shipped with insurance with a value not less than the total sale price of the artwork. You can learn more about shipping insurance here.

Once you’ve shipped the artwork, it’s important that you provide the buyer with a tracking number – this can be done through the messaging function on the site.

Once the artwork has been delivered to the buyer, they will mark the transaction complete before funds are released to your nominated bank account. If the buyer does not mark the transaction as complete within 14 days of receiving the item, the transaction will be automatically completed and you’ll receive the purchase price for the artwork, minus Atelier fees.

When will I get paid? 

Once you’ve confirmed the sale and shipped the artwork, payment will be transferred to your nominated bank account within 30 days of the transaction being marked complete, unless the buyer chooses to return the artwork within 7 days after receiving it (the Returns Period). 

If the buyer chooses to return the artwork within the Returns Period, then you will not receive any payment for the sale. All artworks that are processed for return will be shipped directly to the Artist registered address.
